Popular questions sleepers ask.

Is a full size bed big enough for couples?

A full size bed is not large enough to comfortably accommodate two adults. It can however accommodate an adult and a child or a couple who likes sleeping close together. For two adults, a full size mattress only gives 27 inches of space, which is most likely not enough for most people to rest comfortably through the night.

What size bed do most couples have?

Most couples choose to have a King, a California King or a Queen sized bed based on personal space preferences. Since there are two people sharing a bed, anything smaller than a Queen is going to be a tight squeeze and you will feel your partner rolling around. A King memory foam mattress or a split king can significantly reduce motion transfer so that you get a great night’s sleep with your partner and/or pet.

How do I measure a mattress or a bed?

Use a tape and look for the marking in inches. To find out the length, measure from the top of the bed to the foot of the bed. For finding out the  width, measure from side to side. Some bed frames are built to hold the mattress with an encasing. For such sizes you may have to measure how tall your mattress has to be. Take a note of these measurements and find a mattress size with similar dimensions. Most bed sizes and mattress sizes are standardized, so it's easy to choose beds and  mattresses of similar dimensions.

Twin vs Twin XL: Which one is better for me?

Twin and Twin XL mattresses are quite similar except for their length. The Twin XL mattress is 5 inches longer than the average Twin Mattress.

Are full and double mattresses the same?

Yes, they are the same. Full mattresses are also called double mattresses and measure 75” long and 54” wide. They are twice the size of a Twin mattress and can comfortably fit a single adult.

What is the difference between a King and California King?

California King is 4 inches longer than a standard King whereas a King is 4 inches wider. This makes California king better suited for tall individuals and for rooms that are long and narrow.

King vs Queen beds - What is right for me?

The choice between a King vs Queen size bed often depends on several factors, including the bed's size, the number of people using it, and your favorite sleeping position.

Can you use two Twin beds to make a King size bed?

Two regular Twins do NOT equal a King. It is two Twin XL’s that are the same dimensions as a king. Placing two twin XL mattresses next to each other is a good option for someone using two Twin XL in a guest room that they can also push together. Two regular Twin mattresses are the same width but shorter in length than a King by 5 inches.

How do I pick the right mattress size for me?

Take into account how big your bedroom is, how much walking distance you need around the bed, furniture in the room, and how much space you need when you sleep i.e., do you sleep curled up like a baby, or like to stretch out? Also keep in mind if you are single or share a bed with a partner and/or pet.

Is a Queen size mattress right for me?

A queen-size mattress is one of the most popular mattress sizes among couples or those who really love their space. A queen size mattress is 60 inches wide and 80 inches long and fits well in master bedrooms in apartments.

Are Twin bed mattresses right for a teenager?

Yes, a twin bed may suit teenagers as well as college students. For the teens that are tall or are growing rapidly, you may want to check out a Twin XL as it is 5 inches longer than a Twin Mattress.

How does a Split King mattress work?

A Split King Mattress is nothing but a King mattress split down the middle. These mattresses are mostly used on Split King Adjustable bed bases that allow different mobility among the sleeping partners.

How thick should a mattress be?

A good mattress should be 11 to 15 inches thick. Depending on the combination of foams, coils, latex, and covers, mattresses will vary in size. The thickness can affect how comfortable a mattress is. We at Nectar, use multiple layers of premium contouring foams to build the most comfortable mattress. We found that the recommended mattress size should be at least 11 inches thick, with luxury mattresses usually being 15 inches.

What mattress will go with my adjustable bed?

Not all mattresses suit an adjustable bed. They need to be built a certain way and be compatible with the mechanics of an adjustable bed.
