Our partners in New Zealand meticulously care for their sheep, providing us with breathable wool that helps regulate your body temperature, keeping you cool and comfortable throughout the night.
- Sri Lankan Rubber Tree Farmers
We source our premium Forest Stewardship Council and GOLS-certified Dunlop latex from farmers in Sri Lanka. These farmers nurture the rubber trees that produce the latex, which is essential for Awara’s renowned comfort and support.
- Trees for the Future
For every Awara mattress sold, we plant ten trees in Kenya, Senegal, Uganda, or Tanzania through our collaboration with Trees for the Future. This initiative not only aids reforestation but also supports local ecosystems and communities.

So, what are you getting with Ghostbed?
- Less warranty, less trialYou’ll be getting a whole lot less. Less warranty, less trial, & it’s less environmentally conscious. Sure, 101 days sounds like a long time, but can you really know you love your mattress if you haven’t tried it in all 4 seasons? Can you be sure your mattress will last as long as you need it to if the warranty is only 25 years? Awara has the best warranty in the industry –it lasts forever. Plus you get more trial: an entire year to make sure it’s perfect for you.
- Ghostbed doesn’t use real latex
Ghostbed doesn’t use real latex at all! They use a synthetic blend “gel memory foam” to synthesize a similar feeling to real latex. This isn’t nearly as comfortable or as breathable as the real thing. And sounds a lot like cutting corners to make more profit to us. Ghostbed just doesn’t cut it when it comes to taking care of the planet, or using natural materials. Awara uses sustainably sourced FSC®-Certified Organic Dunlop natural latex for a layer of cooling, cushioning comfort.
- Ghostbed doesn’t have a EurotopThe Euro top for the Awara mattress is a perfect example of what we like to call eco-luxury, made of 100% New Zealand wool and providing cushiony support, and natural temperature control. Ghostbed doesn’t have a Eurotop at all, and their cover is made of a synthetic material they call “Ghost Ice Fabric”. I mean I guess you can call your artificial viscose-polyester blend material whatever you want – but there’s still nothing natural about it!
