Hybrid Design

A hybrid design offers the best of both worlds in terms of comfort because hybrids use a combination of traditional springy coils and a top comfort layer of soft, latex material. Awara uses a premium individually-wrapped pocketed coil system and natural Rainforest Alliance Certified latex in order to give you the perfect mixture of plush comfort and lifted support. Enjoy the classic feel of a spring mattress with the added benefit of cushioning latex. Nothing feels better than finding a mattress that cradles your body and helps relieve points of pressure for a soft, luxurious night of sleep.

Saatva Zenhaven uses a 5-zone system of latex, and latex only. Saatva Zenhaven is not a hybrid mattress. With a mattress made solely of latex, you do not receive the same cozy contouring and solid support that hybrids, like Awara, can offer.

Latex

Awara uses Rainforest Alliance Certified latex. It’s important to us that you’re sleeping on the most natural and harmful-chemical-free mattress possible, so you can sleep better knowing it is better for your wellbeing - and the planet!

We use natural and organic latex because it is a durable surface that contours like a dream and also stays cool while you sleep. Not only is Awara’s latex extremely comfortable and cushioning to help relieve stress from aching bones, but we also took eco-conscious matters into our own hands with sustainable sourcing practices. Both body and mind will feel great atop this comforting latex material that is minimally-invasive to our Earth.

In comparison, Saatva Zenhaven uses Talalay latex, which takes more steps and resources to produce, and may not be the most eco-friendly option in terms of latex production. In addition, Saatva Zenhaven’s Talalay latex is not Rainforest Alliance Certified.

Latex Layer

Awara mattresses come with a 4” layer of organic latex that contours perfectly to support any sleeping position while simultaneously providing a responsive cushioning bounce and proper spinal support. You’ll find relief from your body’s pressure points and wake up feeling refreshed atop the thick, 4” comfort layer of natural latex.

Saatva Zenhaven has a 1.5” layer of latex on the top and bottom and both have different levels of firmness. One side has a ‘gentle firm’ latex layer and the other side has a ‘luxury plush’ latex layer, and the idea is that you’re able to have two firmness levels in one mattress. Between these layers is two 3” layers of supporting latex. Two levels of firmness in one mattress may sound like a good idea, but may cause early sinkage in the layer that is at the bottom because of the continual weight put on it from the upper layers and from months or years of use.

Euro Top

Awara is topped with a lush, silky, 100% organic cotton and wool material Euro top designed to help improve air flow, giving you an enhanced sleep experience and comfortability. Awara’s luxurious Euro top design is what sets it apart from its competitors. Adding that extra softness without taking away from the supportive bottom layers, Awara’s Euro top is perfect for back, side, and stomach sleepers. Never sacrifice quality of materials and comfort for eco-friendliness. Awara guarantees both.

The Saatva Zenhaven mattress does not have the same plush Euro top as Awara, and instead has only a 1” layer of wool underneath its cotton cover before hitting the latex layers. Choose econscious luxury with Awara’s Euro top instead.

Organic Materials

Awara’s latex layer is made of Rainforest Alliance Certified latex and is topped with an organic knit cover to bring you better sleep, naturally. These breathable materials are better for the environment. The 100% natural organic latex that is used to construct Awara, means that it isn’t made with the same chemicals used in many other mattress brands and that can cause unpleasant smells. Awara is better for the Earth.

Though Saatva Zenhaven boasts organic cotton and organic wool materials used in parts of its construction, the latex is not Rainforest Alliance Certified. Though creating a mattress made with Rainforest Alliance Certified standards is generally pricier and more difficult, Awara understands the importance of offering a product with organic materials.

With Awara, You Get More than a Latex Hybrid Mattress. You Get to Sleep Better, Naturally.

On average, companies in the mattress industry only offer a trial period of 90-100 nights. Awara takes their trial period even further and more than triples that 3 month average trial to 1 full year, 365 full days. No, that is not a typo. With a full year trial, you’re able to take Awara into your home and really get a feel for what it’d be like to sleep on this mattress long term.

Saatva Zenhaven, in comparison, only offers a 120 night trial, which is 245 days (or 8 months!) less than Awara. Take your time and feel comfortable knowing you can ease into this large investment with a lengthy, year long trial.

Free Shipping: The good news is, both Awara and Saatva Zenhaven offer free shipping. No need to worry about any hidden fees that crop up at check out. The price you see is the price you pay.

Free Returns: Awara makes returns extremely simple for you. If at any point during the 365 night trial you decide that Awara is not the right fit for you, you’re able to return it at no additional cost. We’ll even work with you to have it donated or disposed of locally, making the effort it takes to return next to nothing. Simply contact our Customer Support team via phone call and we will be happy to help.

The Saatva Zenhaven return is a bit of a different story. Though Saatva Zenhaven boasts an easy return, they are not technically free. If you decide to return your Saatva Zenhaven mattress within the 120 night trial period, you are able to get a refund, but they subtract a $99 transportation cost, meaning that the return is not technically “free”. Technically you’re paying that $99 as the price to return your item.

Mattress Setup/Removal: Both Saatva Zenhaven and Awara offer mattress setup delivery services as well as mattress removal services. Zenaven offers free mattress setup and removal of up to two pieces of mattress furniture (i.e. mattress and mattress foundation). Awara offers a White Glove Delivery Service and mattress removal for an additional $149 fee at checkout

Speaking of large investments, when you are purchasing a mattress, it’s one of if not the most important pieces of furniture in your home. Mattresses tend to cost more than any other piece of furniture for your home, which means that it’s important to find a mattress company that offers an excellent warranty, so you can feel safe with this investment.

At Awara, we understand the industry standard. A 10 year warranty meant to last just as long as it takes the mattress to sag and the quality to greatly decrease, and it’s time to purchase another one. Awara aims to break this mold and win your trust by offering a Forever Warranty that is just as incredible as the name suggests. For as long as you own the Awara mattress, we’ve got you covered. If, at any point, you find a defect in materials, craftsmanship, or durability, we work with you to either replace the mattress or to fix the issue, depending on how long you’ve owned your Awara mattress. This is a guarantee that lasts forever.

On the other hand, Saatva Zenhaven offers only a 20 year warranty, which is better than the 10 year industry standard, but doesn’t quite reach the level of Awara’s Forever warranty. It’s hard to compete with a quality guarantee that lasts forever.

We Never Compromise

Certifications

Going natural and organic is not a matter we take lightly, which is why we’ve ensured our materials are certified. As mentioned above, our latex is certified to meet the Rainforest Alliance Certified standards for organic materials, and uses 100% organic cotton and Certified 100% Organic Wool fiber from New Zealand, as well as no petroleum-based polyurethane foams, chemical adhesives, chemical fire retardants, or memory foams. Feel good about purchasing Awara for yourself or for those you care about.

Similarly, Saatva Zenhaven does not use poly foams, does not use toxic chemicals, and uses a non-chemical fire retardant certified by the SGS. That was the good news. The bad news is that they do not use natural and Rainforest Alliance Certified latex, they do not use 100% organic cotto, they do not use water-based adhesives.

Natural Sleep

Find Better Sleep Naturally

The Saatva Zenhaven mattress offers only 10” of latex material. It is not supported with foam-encased coils because it is not a hybrid, which is part of the reason why it is only about 10” in thickness.

In comparison, Awara offers 13” of plush, cushioning support that lovingly hugs your body’s unique curves with a combination of organic latex and coils. The 13” is broken down into 4” of supportive latex, and 9” of premium coils. 13” is the perfect height to keep you lifted atop the individually wrapped foam-encased coils and cushioned with the comfort layers of latex for an excellent bounce-back and cozy contouring feel.

One of the best parts about the Awara mattress is that the price for a Queen size is only $1,149. On average, hybrid mattresses that match the quality of Awara’s premium natural materials, incredible customer service, and Forever warranty, cost nearly $2,000. Saatva Zenhaven is one example of this, with a Queen size mattress costing $1,899. With Saatva Zenhaven you’re spending more with a shorter warranty and sleep trial.
